NOWNESS is a global video platform supported by CHANEL featuring short films on art, design, fashion, music, and culture. In 2019, it launched NOWNESS Short Film Awards, a program for the Asian market that supports emerging filmmakers and helps grow their careers. Under its “Genius” initiative, the program has gathered nearly 4,000 short films from almost 20 countries and regions, making it one of the most influential short-film showcases in China.

The 6th edition ran under the theme “In Motion”, celebrating bold, independent, and experimental voices. To reflect this spirit, 2x4 Beijing designed the edition logo and key visual. The logo combines a pair of brackets with the Arabic numeral “6” to form “(6)”, a shape that also reads as an eye, symbolizing how NOWNESS observes and witnesses what is “In Motion” in culture. At the center of the main visual, a floating sphere represents the multi-layered viewpoints and limitless creative worlds of the filmmakers. It echoes the circular form within the “6” and serves as a simple, potent symbol of concentrated thought and expansive imagination.

Once the logo and key visual were defined, I led the full implementation through to final print-ready files. This included horizontal and vertical poster layouts, the color system, digital assets for the data, invitations, wristbands, booklets, audience voting cards, badges, stage backdrops, and jury posters. Across all these applications, I ensured the visual system remained consistent, clear, and flexible, so the 6th edition felt like a single, cohesive identity across print, digital, and the festival space.
